Educational Benefits

The State of Ohio is dedicated to providing valuable education benefits to qualifying veterans and their dependents. One of the significant benefits is the waiver of the typical 12-month residency requirement, allowing veterans to receive in-state tuition rates. Furthermore, veterans are not required to be enrolled in a state college to gain residency for their dependents. To qualify, veterans must have an honorable discharge or medical separation with at least one year of service, and their eligibility should be documented through a DD214. Veterans and/or dependents must reside in Ohio as of the first day of enrollment, and dependents must provide proof of marriage, dependent status through federal tax paperwork, and documentation of the veteran's status as a POW, MIA, or KIA.
